FAQ For Carbon Fiber:
WHAT IS CARBON FIBER?
Carbon fiber is a high strength, high stiffness synthetic fiber that is used in a variety of structural and electrical applications.
HOW IS CARBON FIBER MANUFACTURED?
Carbon fiber is manufactured by heating, oxidizing, and carbonizing polyacrylonitrile polymer fibers. The resulting carbon fibers are typically molded into high strength composite materials for structural applications or are used in their pure form for electrical and friction applications.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES TO USING CARBON FIBER?
Carbon fiber composites have amazing structural properties. Carbon fiber composites are ten times stronger than steel, yet are still five times lighter. In comparison to aluminum, carbon fiber composites are eight times stronger, two times stiffer, yet still 1.5 times lighter. Carbon fiber composites have superior fatigue properties to all known metallic structures, and when coupled with the proper resins, carbon fiber composites are one of the most corrosion resistant materials available.
WHAT ARE THE COMPOSITES?
Composites are broadly known as reinforced plastics. Specifically, composites are a reinforcing fiber in a polymer matrix. Most commonly, the reinforcing fiber is fiberglass, although superior high strength fibers such as aramid and carbon are used in advanced applications. The polymer matrix is a thermoset resin, with polyester, vinyl ester, and epoxy resins most often the matrix of choice. Specialized resins, such as, phenolic, polyurethane and silicone are used for specific applications.
WHY USE CARBON FIBER IN YOUR COMPOSITES?
When carbon fibers are used in industry, they are woven into sheets, tubes, or other desired shapes. Epoxy resins or other binders are often added to the carbon fibers. The resulting composite of epoxy and carbon fibers is stronger than either component individually. Carbon fibers have found wide application in commercial and civilian aircraft, recreational, industrial, and transportation markets. Carbon fibers are used in composites with a lightweight matrix. Carbon fiber composites are ideally suited to applications where strength, stiffness, lower weight, and outstanding fatigue characteristics are critical requirements. They also can be used in the occasion where high temperature, chemical inertness and high damping are important.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES TO CARBON FIBER COMPOSITES SUCH AS OUR PRODUCTS?
HIGH STRENGTH
Composite materials can be designed to meet the specific strength requirements of an application. A distinct advantage of composites, over other materials, is the ability to use many combinations of resins and reinforcements, and therefore custom tailor the mechanical and physical properties of a structure.
LIGHT WEIGHT
Composites offer materials that can be designed for both light weight and high strength. In fact, composites are used to produce the highest strength to weight ratio structures known to man. Corrosion Resistance Composites provide long-term resistance to severe chemical and temperature environments. Composites are the material of choice for outdoor exposure, chemical handling applications and severe environment service.
DESIGN FLEXIBILITY
Composites have an advantage over other materials because they can be molded into complex shapes at relatively low cost. The flexibility offers designers a freedom which is a hallmark of composites achievement.
DURABILITY
Composite structures have an exceedingly long life span. Coupled with low maintenance requirements, the longevity of composites is a benefit in critical applications. In a half-century of composites development, well designed composite structures have yet to wear-out.
FAQ For Aerodynamic Orders:
Do I have to pay sales tax?
Sales tax applies to all residents in the Washington state.
Why must the shipping address be the same as the billing address? This is a security measure against fraud to protect cardholders like you against fraudulent charges.
Do you ship to a P.O Box address?
No, unfortunately we do not ship to the P.O. Box address.
Do you ship the aerodynamic orders within the US only? Yes we ship only to the 48 contiguous US states.
How long would it take for the aerodynamic order to arrive?
Generally, it takes about 10 to 15 business days for the arrival of your order. In aerodynamic orders, sometimes there are unpredictable circumstances, which may delay your order. For example, maybe the full kit is just waiting for one piece like the rear bumper or side skirts. We always have to wait until all the parts are in before we ship it out. We will do whatever it takes to our best ability to get your order to you as quickly as possible. Also, body kits are shipped via truck freight, which generally takes an additional 5-7 business days. Please do NOT schedule body shop appointments before you receive your kit.
Is there a faster shipping method?
No, these aerodynamic boxes are too large to be taken by express shipping such as FedEx or UPS. They must be delivered via truck freight.
What types of payments do you accept?
For your shopping convenience, you can pay conveniently and securely online with PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, American Express. We also accept money order, business check, cashiers check, wire transfer and money transfer via Western Union. Please do not mail cash. Money orders or checks may require 3 weeks or more to clear before order will be processed. Money Order and Check purchases will not be shipped until check has cleared. There is a $20.00 fee (USD) on returned checks. We do not accept personal checks. Sorry NO CODs.
Installation of Aerodynamics
Some products are manufactured with 100% fiberglass. Due to the material used in production, the body kits will NOT be a direct bolt-on. These body kits may require prepping, sanding, shaving, filling gaps, or other extensive body work. These modifications may include removal or cutting of the reinforcement bars. By complying with our policies, customer understands the procedure and possible difficulty in installing the body kit. We HIGHLY recommend that a professional body shop with fiberglass body kit experience perform the installation. Refunds will not be issued due to poor fitment of the body kit. If fitment is off by extreme margins, a refund will be considered.
Returns
All returns must be authorized and approved by us and is subject to a 25% restocking fee. All return requests must be made within 3 days after receiving order. All approved returns must be returned to the original shipping center/location in unused and unaltered condition with original packaging (or better packaging). Insure that product is very well packaged. Refunds will not be issued on returns that are damaged during shipping back to the original shipping center/location. In the event that damage does occur, a refund will be issued when a claim has been settled with the carrier. Failure to comply with this return policy will result in a refusal of the shipment and will be returned to customer at his/her own expense.
Shipping Damages
Some Aerodynamic products may be damaged during transit. Please inspect all packages immediately in the presence of the delivery person. Do not sign delivery receipt until all packages have been inspected. In the event that damage has occurred, note the specific damage on the delivery bill and have the delivery person sign it as verification. Retain all boxes and other packaging material as package may be subject to inspection by the carrier. Contact us within 24 hours to file a claim request. Failure to comply with this policy may result in a denial for damage claim.
Warranty/Liability
All Aerodynamic products sold by us are sold as is to the customer. We do NOT offer warranty on any of the Aerodynamic products sold. If warranty is offered by the manufacturer, warranty documentation will be sent with the product. All Aerodynamic products sold by us are aftermarket products and are intended for off-road or show use only. We are not liable for any damages or injury as a result of these products. Due to strict regulations by the Department of Transportation, some of these products are not approved for street/highway use.
